Vision

Mission

Our mission is to advance health, wellness, and dignity across the Central Valley by centering BIPOC and QTPOC communities while serving all people with equity and compassion. We provide harm reduction, HIV prevention, peer support, youth leadership, reentry services, cultural programming, and advocacy that empower individuals and strengthen communities.

Vision

We envision a Central Valley where every person has the freedom to live authentically, access vital resources, and thrive in safe, connected, and prosperous communities. A future where BIPOC and QTPOC voices lead, where wellness and justice are guaranteed, and where belonging is not a privilege, but a right for all.

Values

Authenticity – Everyone deserves the freedom to live and express their true self without fear.

  • Equity – We confront systemic barriers to create fair access to health, housing, education, and opportunity.

  • Community – Healing and resilience are built in connection; we believe no one should walk alone.

  • Cultural Pride – We celebrate the beauty and strength of diverse identities, histories, and traditions.

  • Compassion – We meet people where they are, with dignity and respect.

Philosophy

We believe that communities most impacted by inequities carry the wisdom to shape the solutions. By centering BIPOC and QTPOC voices, practicing harm reduction, and uplifting peer leadership, we create pathways for people to thrive. Our approach is rooted in healing, empowerment, and justice.

Equity

We recognize that trans, gender-diverse, and QTPOC people often carry disproportionate burdens — from housing insecurity and incarceration to stigma, health disparities, and economic exclusion. CVGHW responds by opening doors: providing direct services, reentry support, harm reduction outreach, peer navigation, and cultural spaces that restore dignity and possibility.

Advocacy

We stand up for those whose voices are often silenced. From challenging stigma to shaping policy, CVGHW works at local, county, and state levels to advance equity for BIPOC and QTPOC communities. We train, educate, and advocate to ensure systems are accountable and communities are safe, visible, and respected.
