Who We Are
Central Valley Gender Health & Wellness (CVGHW) is a community-based nonprofit headquartered in Stockton, California, serving communities throughout the Central Valley. We connect people to affirming healthcare, HIV prevention, behavioral health, peer support, youth leadership, advocacy, and community programs that improve health, strengthen resilience, and foster belonging.
Our Programs
HIV Prevention & Sexual Health
Free HIV/STI testing, PrEP & PEP navigation, prevention education, and linkage to affirming care.
Behavioral Health
Gender-affirming counseling, behavioral health services, trauma-informed care, and mental wellness support.
Peer Support
Certified Peer Support Specialists provide recovery support, resource navigation, life skills coaching, and guidance from lived experience.
Community Outreach & Community Health Workers
Our Community Health Workers and outreach team provide mobile services, Wellness on Wheels, care coordination, health education, resource navigation, and connections to medical, behavioral health, and social services.
Overdose Prevention & Response
Life-saving overdose prevention and response services including naloxone, fentanyl and xylazine test strips, overdose education, and connections to treatment and recovery resources.
Advocacy & Education
Public policy advocacy, professional trainings, cultural humility education, and health equity initiatives.
Community Programs & Events
Stockton Pride, Community Healing Circles, Jotería Nights, educational workshops, youth leadership, community celebrations, and events that foster connection, wellness, and belonging.
